Start practicing the melody on the melody side, accompanied by the chords – the so called tap-chords- on the bass side.  Then to improvise practice the scales, going from C to C’. When practicing the scales on the melody, the chords, on the bass side, are identical to the the chords you used to accompany the melody. When practicing the scales on the bass side, the chords have to be done on the melody side. We give you two types of chords in each bar: the first is a two-notes chord with just the third and the seventh (analog to the tap-chords), the second is a three-notes chord where we added the fifth.
